Q1 Update 2022
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2022.
We are very excited about this year and what it means to continue to do the work that we do for another year. 2021 was another year of growth and scaling Make Something Media to be a prominent figure in the world of video production. I try not to compare ourselves to the many great production companies in the area and around the world. Instead, I like to focus on running our own race. Instead of doing whatever it takes to get ahead, I zero in on bettering ourselves and nurturing the community and the foundation we've already developed.

2021 ended in a sprint. Since returning from Japan it’s been nonstop over here. I’ve been very grateful for all the work our clients give us.
Below are some of the amazing projects we were able to work on:
NASA
I was driving home on a Saturday from a wedding in Cincinnati when I received a call from a friend. It’s late on my day off so I was debating to take the call or not. I picked it up. He said “Hey what are you doing this week? This is going to sound crazy but NASA is in town and they are exploring caves with robots to prepare to send them to Mars. Do you want to shoot a documentary for them?” I’m glad I took the call.
We spent two weeks with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory team that was
competing in the DARPA Subterranean Challenge. The robots were used to map and conduct search and rescue missions. Eventually, NASA would like to send these robots to the Moon and Mars to map and explore the cave systems. Below are some screenshots and pictures of what we captured.
Asbury University
Our relationship with Asbury University goes back to the days I was an undergraduate student studying media communications. Since then, we’ve worked with them every year on different marketing campaigns. This past quarter, we’ve helped them market their online undergraduate, APS, and graduate programs. This has been especially
relevant lately due to the nature of COVID-19 and the effect it has on people being able to return to school. Below are some shots from the content we’ve produced.
Beijing 2022
In just a few weeks I will be returning to my work at the Olympics to help cover the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. This will be my third Olympic Games but my first time returning as an independent Olympic contractor. The first two times I attended as a broadcast training program member. I’ve been promoted to a new role with more responsibility. I’m very excited about continuing my contract with the Olympics and excited to cover yet another world-class sporting event.
Thank you for your support!
Look out for the next update where we fill you in on our work with a few TV commercials and some stories from China!
