Q2 Update 2022

It’s Already Summer!

2022 has flown by so far. Below you will find some updates on some of the projects we took part in this year. I’m so grateful for all the support we continually receive from family, friends, and our clients!

I have mixed feelings this week as my wife and I are preparing to move to Louisville, KY in the next couple of weeks. Wilmore and the Lexington area have been so good to us, but we are excited to move closer to many of our clients as well as move into a bigger market. I’ve completed my Master’s in Fine Arts and my wife has completed her Master's in Counseling so we are educated and ready to start the next chapter!

Chapter One’s Conclusion

This being our last year in the Central Kentucky area, there are many things that are going to be different in the coming years.

Below are some projects we’ve enjoyed the past couple of months.

Beijing 2022

This year’s Olympic Games were unlike any other I’ve experienced. COVID-19 protocols were much more relevant than in Tokyo last summer. Once we arrived in Beijing, we were tested multiple times by Chinese representatives. For our entire stay in China, we were inside a ‘bubble.’ The bubble consisted of our hotel rooms, the airport, and any Olympic sponsored venue, vehicle, or broadcast center. Overall, I really enjoyed my time in Beijing. My coworkers were incredible as always and the limited mobility allowed us to spend more time getting to know each other. Here’s to hopefully making it to Paris in 2024!

The 148th Kentucky Derby

The Wednesday before the Derby this year I received a call from a friend. They needed a cinematographer to help capture the Kentucky Oaks and The 148th Kentucky Derby. I was supposed to graduate on the day of the Derby but I already told my friends and family if I received an offer to work at Derby then I was going to take it. At the wire, someone called and offered a gig. I worked closely with producers to capture stories and images from inside the horse’s paddock, red carpet and stands for both the Kentucky Oaks and Derby.

We captured trainers and celebrities such as Janet Jackson, Jason Aldean, Chad Brown, Brad Cox, Sam Hunt, Morgan Wallen, Darius Rucker, Joey Fatone, Cam Newton, Micheal Phelps, and more. The documentary is going to be focused on the 150th derby in a couple of years. Look out for it on streaming services around then to see some of our work!

Kentucky Kids Belong

These kids are special. We were asked to come in and help film and tell the stories of foster kids in Kentucky who are looking to be adopted. It’s hard to not sit and hear every kid's story and not want to do something. Please take a look at these stories and share them with anyone who may be looking. We are honored to have been a part of this event and can’t wait to do it again! See their stories here.

Thank you for your support!
