Q1 Update 2023
2023
We are already nearly three months into the new year. Flowers are showing their colors, and the Bermuda grass is starting to (hopefully) turn green. It's also a significant planning season for us at Make Something Media. We go through phases much like the weather. The winter is a time of preparation, planning, and hanging out in the studio. As spring approaches, we are very excited to get to all the exciting projects we have planned for the rest of the year. For now, I'd love to share a few of the projects we've been lucky to participate in this year.

Kentucky Kids Belong
We are very excited to have seen Kentucky Kids Belong again this past month! They brought the kids to Louisville Slugger Field, home of the Minor League Baseball team, the Louisville Bats. The kids sat down and did some interviews with us, had professional photos taken, and participated in different activities around the stadium. Kentucky Kids Belong recently shared on their Instagram and described how this job is more than simply producing a video.
“At our shoot earlier this month, we were blessed to work with some amazing videographers and photographers who gave of their time and incredible talents. You may think they simply followed the kids around with cameras, but it is so much more than that!
They interact with the kids, making them laugh, share heartfelt moments, sometimes all while throwing footballs around. They are not afraid to act silly when needed, provide encouragement, and bring a level of comfort to all they work with.
With this team, you get everything you ask for and more. We are always left so impressed with our talented group!”
Global Missions Health Conference
Every year, GMHC hosts thousands of healthcare professionals, residents, and students from all over the world. In the past, we’ve helped them live stream the event during Covid and for folks who could not make the trip. Recently, we’ve produced video conversations between doctors in different fields on various topics. Below are some examples on how we were able to take a Zoom call and turn it into something special.
Southeast Men’s Bumper
Early this year, we ran around Louisville, Kentucky, to help Southeast Christian Church film a bumper video for their Men's ministry. The video focused on the group's intentions for community, friendship, and intentionality. Southeast is one of the largest churches in the country. However, working closely with them, you quickly learn about their intention to make a big church feel small by creating smaller community groups. Below are some screen grabs from the Nike-inspired trailer we put together.
